View Full Version : waited over 2 hours at hair salon and no haircut I am so mad!

My ds and I went hair salon this morning for haircuts. I tried to call ahead for an appointment, but they said to just come in. So we got there at 10:25 and signed in. We did want to have a certain stylist. We have been going there to have our sons haircut every 8 weeks for 10 years. I don't have mine cut as often. My dh also goes every 6 weeks to a different location of the same salon. Well the lady we wanted to cut our hair told us she had a foil to start and that it would be a half of an hour. OK fine I brought a book and could deal with that. One hour and 10 minutes later and two kids who screamed their heads off while their mother did nothing and a lady next to me waiting who smacked her gum with her mouth open the entire time my son was called. I figured she would cut both our hair while the lady had the solution take on the foil job. My ds comes back and says it will be 15 minutes and it looks like she is going to finish the foil lady before she cuts my hair. Fine we have already invested this much time I can wait a bit longer. Well she now had to cut the foil job and the lady asks to have her hair scrunched dry and not blow dryed. At last it is mirror time and man am I happy. Well the lady having the foil done was not happy with the job and wants parts redone. So the stylist takes her over the wash it out again and start the foil. At this point I have been there over 2 hours and I had had enough. I quietly asked another sytlist if I could pay for my son's cut and left. I am really steamed. I was so looking forward to having my hair cut and styled. My anniversary is Friday and my birthday is next Wednesday. I wanted to look nice to go out on a date with my dh this weekend. Mainly I am mad that we were told it would be 30 mintues and it was much longer. I know we could have just left but with the high gas prices I really am trying to cut down on our trips to town. I am so bummed.

:( I'm sorry! I wonder if you go in again and tell this person your story, would she at least give you a discount on the next cut? Probably not, but it wouldn't hurt to ask!

I'd rep you to help you feel better, but I'm all out for today!

That's so frustrating. I had the same problem with the place I liked to go -- the first year or so we had no trouble getting the guy we wanted. Then, for some reason, the place was always packed and everyone there was waiting for "our guy." They wouldn't take appointments, either.

After wasting a lot of hours waiting for "my guy" I found a new guy. ;-)

:grouphug: You might call the stylist and see if she can schedule you for a specific time. She should give you a discount and I hope your hair is the bomb for your B-day and Anniversary.

I would call the stylist, explain what happened and see if she will work you in and offer you a discount. It sounds like the person getting the foil was pretty picky and took alot of time. I would tell her you like her but felt you were not dealt fairly with...hopefully you will get a discount!
