So, I'm assuming I just wash, wrap in foil, and plop into the crockpot and then turn on low for 6 hours? Is that way too long? Way too short? Do I do anything else? I've never done them in the crockpot, only in the oven. TIA!

My recipe calls rubbing the potatoes with butter or olive oil. Prick them and place in slow cooker. Cook on low 6-8 hours or on high 3-4 or until potatoes are easy to poke.

Do you wrap them in foil or just put them in there like that?

The recipe doesn't call for foil. I like to butter (or olive oil) and salt them before so you can eat the skins.

I just poke them a bunch, squirt with olive oil and salt and stick em in. No foil or anthing else. They turn out very soft and yummy.

for a few years now. It sure is nice not heating my kitchen up for so long in the summer! I wash, poke a couple holes in them and wrap with foil. I put them on low in the morning and just cook them all day. The only thing I try to remember to do is rotate them or else the ones on top don't get cooked enough and the ones on bottom get overcooked.

I have never heard of this! What a great idea, I'm totally doing it.
Thanks!
