I handed dd7 and ds3 each (we're off from lessons this week) an empty bucket and told them that whoever picked up the most cars (belong to ds3) would get some chocolate.
Yep. I should get the mother of the year award. Lol.

I prefer the term "motivational tool", rather than bribe. :) I'm wondering if you will give them both chocolate, regardless of who has the most cars. I always feel too badly, when my kids try really hard, to say "NOPE sorry you lose!" LOL

Hey, that's not a bribe, that's an incentive program. And they can be very useful too. I don't think it's a bad thing to use incentives on occasion. No bad vibes from me on that one!;)

by definition bribes come before the desired action. A reward or incentive comes after. This is clearly a case of an incentive program. Besides SWB bribes, ahem I mean rewards, her kids with chocolate so it is clearly a mandatory part of WTM.:D

Whoa! Maybe I am up for the Mother of the Year award! Lol. I think I might use this 'incentive' program more, esp. with ds3 who really wears on my nerves with defiance and strong will. Sigh.

They pay their kids a penny per pine cone. Both kids ending up earning about $10. It works!
