summer reading when below level...

Dd10 reads at gr.2 level and ds8 reads at gr.1 level. They both really want to read, but they are bored with the books I have at their reading level. I am looking for suggestions for interesting books that are easy enough for dd10 and ds8 to read. They have worked so hard this year. I don't want them to be discouraged that they can't find any books to read at the library this summer!!

Look for what is called High/Low interest books. Your librarian should be able to help you, but here are some links. The first link sells the only hi-lo books I've seen for a 1st grade reading level. One of their offered titles is Aesop's Fables for 1st gradelevel readers.
