Ds8 and ds10 will take the test next year (3rd and 5th grade). Why I'm concerened about this, I don't know. It's a necessary evil, if you ask me. But, the competetive part of me is coming out and I want to know what to expect. So, what test do your dc take and can you tell me a bit about what is on the test so I can prepare my dc? Also, do you do any test prep? Any books out there? TIA

CAT

Basic questions like we had in school. Lots of reading and comprehension. And no, I don't prep my kids for it. Gives me more of an accurate reading where they are at. I aooreciate the tests to show that my children are doing well.

How about writing? My dc used this Test Prep book while with K12 and in that book there were writing prompts. I don't know if writing was on the PSSA's or not...is it on the CAT? Also, how would I go about getting the CAT and having it administered?

Oh, mommaduck, btw...thanks for the evaluator referral. I contacted her and will meet w/ her sometimes in the next couple weeks! If I could just get this portfolio together now...:glare:

No, there was no writing. It was just multiple choice. Glad to help on the other.
