We leave later tonight for the States, dh is staying here so it'll be me and three kids on a 15 hr flight. They are usually pretty good on the flight (the all-you-can-watch tv/movies are helpful), but have a hard time waiting in line at the immigration checkpoint once we land. Last year we were waiting in line for a good 45 minutes, with the constant whining and all (I don't blame them, they were tired). And then as I'm talking to the officer at the counter I look out the corner of my eye and see my oldest pulling the carry-on bag dragging ds #2 who is holding on for dear life across the hall (beyond the checkpoint, I might add). The officer actually apologized to me as he instructed me to go to a side office for "extra questioning" (standard procedure for us).
So I could use kind thoughts for us all mentally surviving the next day -- we'll be glad to be out of the heat and with the grandparents, but getting there is a bit of a trial!

BTDT! Only it was travelling from the east coast to Japan w/ 2 kids. I hope you have family picking you up at the airport when you arrive. It's always easier when someone else who isn't so tired and road-weary can step in and help get everyone to their destination, fed and tucked in a bed. :grouphug: Hang in there... the travel will end and then the fun times can start.

I've never had to do anything remotely like that but it sounds . . . quite unpleasant. I hope that things go as smoothly as possible! Wishing you all the best!

Best wishes for a smooth flight and an easy pass through customs and immigration. I really think the kids pick up on our stress levels, so the more deep breathing (seriously!) as you wait in line, the better! At least that's been my yoga-inspired defenses!
