I ordered a used copy of the student edition of Holt Biology on amazon and it just arrived today. I really like the look of it. It will be a LOT easier to use than Prentice Hall.
I don't know what resources I should order to go with it. For Prentice Hall, I have the teacher and student editions of the textbook and workbook and I have the test masters with answers.
I see a teacher and student edition for Holt Biology, but not a workbook or test masters. I have the 2006 edition.
What resources should I have?

Thanks for posting this question. We're also planning for biology, so I'm looking forward to replies on this one.

We used the student book, teachers book and online book and the student workbook. We then used an SAT subject study guide and studied and took the test.

What was the student workbook listed as in the catalog? I saw a study guide listed, but the sales rep I talked to on the phone said that it wasn't a workbook.

I think I saw a workbook at our local half price books today. I thumbed through it, but didn't spend a bunch of time looking at it.

Okay, I think the "workbook" we used must have been the study guide. The Rep may have said that it was not a workbook because you do have permission to copy the pages. I'm not positive though, as fair as we can tell it was thrown out. My dd says that she thinks she threw it out because she was done with it and did not want to see it any more. So obviously it was a favorite resource.
