My kids need to practice patiently thinking through a complicated problem. I'd rather not spend money on the Mind Benders series from Critical Thinking Books & Software, but that's precisely the sort of practice they need. Are there any similar free resources on the internet?

Lori D always has some great logic suggestions.
This thread (http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28350&highlight=Logic)discusses logic. If you scroll down to Lori’s post she offers a lot of “non-traditional” suggestions.
If you sign up to get Dover samples (http://www.doverpublications.com/nc0035/)they often send out mazes, word puzzles and such that could be used for critical thinking.
