Myrtle or others--My Pals are Here Science 4a/b Question

My dd is begging to go on to My Pals are Here Science 4a/b. Do I need the TG for these? We didn't need them for 3a/b.

I didn't use the TG for any of the levels. Just the text, workbook and activity book (and I've heard good things about the Higher Order Thinking Skills books but I don't know what levels they're available for!)
