I got a great deal ($5 a year!) for Ladies Home Journal, Better Homes and Gardens and Midwest Living. I also get Taste of Home (which was a gift) and Kraft Food and Family, which is free. I'm also a Cooking Club member, so I get their magazine, too.
Can you tell I love cooking? LOL

I used to get Gourmet back when I was in high school through early Mom-life, but it has changed so much that I do not like it anymore, so no longer subscribe.
I read Time/Newsweek/People at martial arts/ortho office.
We also get daily Wall St. Journal (hey - where are the funnies?) and Chicago Tribune. I skim local papers on-line each a.m.

Smithsonian
Air and Space (gift from aeronautical engineer uncle)
Science News
Boys' Life (would like it without all the advertising and pop culture junk but can't seem to get rid of it.)
Popular Science (I am thinking of trading this for Scientific American because I can't stand the 10 male dysfunction ads and other junk.)
I used to get Mothering and Midwifery Today, but have let those lapse.
I just don't have the time to read mags any more since I have 3 kids book clubs to keep up with and my bible study homework.

The only magazine I subscribe to or read regularly is Orion. I enjoy skimming through The Economist or Atlantic Monthly when the opportunity arises (maybe twice a year at this point), but overall I'm not big on magazines. I do also like look at the pics in Country and Country Extra mags when I'm at my parents' house.

I have subscribed to various magazines that I really enjoy, but sometimes I don't get around to them....and they pile up.....and I feel pressured to read them and then I don't want to just because I have to...and then the next one comes....and the pile gets bigger!!! So, I stopped subscribing to most magazines. I'll just pick one up at the store every now and then and enjoy it when I feel like it.

I used to get The Nation and Sojourners, but I've let them both lapse for now. I keep meaning to check and see if I can get an online subscription to Sojourners instead...I hate either tossing magazines or having them pile up all over the place. Oh! I still have a sub to Brain, Child. I love that one!

hunting that toothpick down and then quickly entering the location online - but never won anything.
I liked a lot of the recipes and even though I am not currently a subscriber, I still use the old mags for some of our fave dishes.

Clutter makes me crazy. Having magazines around, waiting to be read, feels like clutter to me. I'm also cognizant of the resources used to produce the magazines and don't want to contribute to higher production and distribution if I'm not genuinely going to read and even save them. All of that is why I subscribe only to Orion, which arrives once every two months, allowing me plenty of time to digest and consider the contents. If I hear of an article that's of particular interest to me in another magazine, I can usually either find it online or at the library.:)

I used to be a big magazine junkie, then dropped them all. A couple of years ago I gradually picked up the ones I missed the most, and my mom started giving subscriptions as her Christmas and birthday gifts, yikes.
I get...
Cooking Light (gift - favorite)
Sunset (gift - makes me homesick though)
Martha Stewart's Food (gift - eh)
Family Circle
Better Homes & Gardens
Interweave Knits
The family gets...
National Geographic (just started!)
TV Guide (because Entertainment Weekly is too much info for us)
We used to get Newsweek, but simply couldn't keep up.
My husband gets...
a specialty beer magazine (gift from his dad)
Scouting
The boys both get Boys Life, and two more subs each, thanks to Grandma. National Geographic Kids & Sports Illustrated Kids, neither of which is a favorite (12yo); My Big Backyard, Zoobooks, & Highlights (7.5yo).

At home we used to pick up a copy from the local charity shop of National Geographic every month. Someone used to donate theirs as soon as the read them. We also 'collect' them from older years right back to the fifties. As usual the old ones are the best.
I used to subscribe to something called 'Fluent French Audio' which was fantastic but they seem to have stopped publishing (isn't it always the way?).
I also buy French Geo magazine (like a European National Geographic).
The children loved Cricket, Spider, Muse, Ask and Click and we subscribed to these for some years.
I am hoping to use periodicals more and more as our children grow up and become more specialised in their interests.

I had lots of magazines when the kids were born, but gave them up for lots of years. Last year I had Shape (I was losing weight, okay? ;) , Simple and Delicious, Organic Gardening and Guideposts.
My tastes have changed a lot over the years. I've gone from Glamour and Self to Parents to Midwest Living, and now I'm heading into a new phase with Ready Made, Countryside & Small Stock Journal, and Health. Guess getting into healthier whole grain lifestyle changes everything. lol
The kids enjoy
Nickelodean
Big Backyard
Boys Life
Tried National Geographic and Popular Science, but they don't look at them. :(
