Hands-On Science for 9th grade?

I really like the looks of Exploration Education Hands-on Science: Intermediate Physical Science http://www.explorationeducation.com/

However, it says it is for grades 4-8. If you have used this, do you think it will be too "young" for a 9th grader? My dd is not very science-oriented and would really like some more hands-on experiments. Do you think I could use this and give her a Physical Science credit for high school?

My eighth graders are moving through it at warp speed (I wanted them to have a physical science base before we start Conceptual Physics). It is really too easy for them (but fun). The software is definitely childish - animals come on and talk - make different noises, etc. I wish we'd done it around 5-6 grade.
