We have had an adult Bunco night which was successful, and are doing an adult bowling night. (We have also had 2 parties for the kids that weren't fundraisers)
Auctions and baskets were not profitable enough to justify the effort by the 3volunteers.
Any other suggestions? We need to raise about $3000 for an equipment purchase.

Car washes? Rummage sales?
I have a friend who sells Home and Garden Party, and they have candles for fundraising purposes.
Oh, I thought of something else. Auction the kids off for services. What I mean is, auction housecleaning, yard work, babysitting, that sort of thing. The student does the work and the "fee" goes toward the fund.

I hate but it does raise money.

A member of our co-op was driving home with her children after one of our meetings. Her 16-year old son was driving and veered into the other lane and hit a semi head-on. He died and the mom has to have extensive surgeries. They are in full-time ministry, so the medical bills are killing them.
Our co-op sponsored a barn dance and advertised the heck out of it. Since it was a fundraiser, a lot of people gave us a break (the caller did the dance for free, the church let us have the building for free, people donated food we could sell). We ended up raising over $1,500 for the family.
I, personally, thought it would be a bit hokey, but it was actually really fun!
