I'm planning on using my tax rebate (to stimulate the German economy, LOL), so money isn't really the issue. Also, we have a big family (six kids, dh and I) so we go through a lot of bread--usually a loaf a day, so between the hassle factor of buying enough bread for the week and the storing of it, I think I can justify. I am going to put off buying the grain mill that so many of you have since I think I need to actually get into making bread before I decide to take the next step.

So, does it make making bread much easier and faster? Will I make a great loaf even if I'm not using fresh-ground grain (I use KA now and I'm joining a coop which I believe will get it to me even faster than the grocery store)? Will I be able to keep up with my family's sandwich desires?

My final justification is that I think I could sell it used pretty easily and at a good price, if I decide that this is just not working.

Thoughts to throw my way? Thanks!

It is showing up. I saw it after your first post and after this one. If you are looking at the 'new posts' screen it won't show up to you until someone else posts on it. Like now. :)

I make six loaves at a time - the quality seems very good. I use it for everything, cakes, cookies (get the cookie paddles). I also got the blender and food processor attachment (although I am not entirely impressed by this, as it has no "bottom" blade like a real food processor, it is just for slicing or grating - you are supposed to use the blender for everything else, but the blender won't work for some of the "thick" things I make). I love having one motor on my counter and be able to do pretty much anything with it.

Have you looked at the Electrolux DLX super machine? I went to a mini seminar on bread making last year. The speaker preferred this one over the Bosch. But, he did say, he was interested in seeing the newer Bosch when it came out.

I use it virtually every day for something. I knead bread in it. I make meringues with it. I make cookies, cake, . . . everything.

I've had mine for about 5 years. Prior to that I had a braun for 15 years which served me well but it's not the same as my bosch.

My sister bought a Kitchenaide after her braun bit the dust. She only kept it a short time before buying a bosch.

Well worth the investment! (I bought mine in conjunction with a nutrimill wheat grinder.)
