Are you going?
On Friday. I guess I will take this moment to ask if people are interested at all in snacks afterwards at my house. I live 1.25 miles from the WHO conference. I could do this either Friday or Saturday.
Maybe everyone is tightly scheduled or just shy, but any interested, please speak up!

Shoot, kalanamak, I should have put a little smiley. I was just poking at Ms. Bear. She's sans big children tonight, so maybe she's here to play?
WHO? What? :001_huh:

Good thing you ladies posted. I'm still too *something* to have caught that on my own. Somebody try again and see if I'm capable of catching a joke! :D

I figured this was homeschool related, but the first thing in my mind was "World Health Organization:D"

So I might be tightly scheduled then, I'm not quite sure yet. Family in town, schedule not yet set, yadda yadda. But I really want to come and see everyone, so everyon should plan to be there.
Thus sayeth me.

Yes, thanks to kalanamak who offered me a place to crash. Money issues made the we-all-four-go-and-stay-in-hotel thing untenable this year. Boo hoo.

I'm late replying, but my sister and I are planning to attend both days. I am so looking forward to hearing SWB speak and have two days off from mothering. :)

I'm shy, but that is a generous offer and I would love to meet fellow boardies. :) My sister will be with me and I think she would enjoy chatting with other homeschool moms even though she doesn't visit the boards. I'd have to check with her, though.

Well, there has been really no nibbles on this, so I'm guessing everyone is busy, assumes they'll be tuckered out, has already carved out enough of their time for this conference, is shy, etc (or I have internet bad breath:001_smile:).
Other people must have gone in past years. Do we pass through like ships in the night or do we stand out like sore thumbs? Even if people aren't interested in tea, it would be nice to have a few Oh That's You moments there. I have no idea who big it is, except that the facility they have planned is not HUGE.
Anyone who goes frequently have any input? Anyone care to consider a tag system, like "if you want to be known as someone who visits these boards, pin a yellow circle of paper to your left shoulder" kind of thing? Just shooting out some ideas.....

TOo funny!
Thought you were either referring to THE WHO ('60s band) or World Health Organization.

I don't know about a big yellow circle :001_huh: on my shoulder, but it would be nice to have some way of recognizing y'all!
I'm pretty sure Carli is going to be there, too? :D

I will be coordinating the front WHO booth and turnstiles again this year and could help you all connect. If you enter before 11:00 on Friday, I'll be there. I am also working until 10: 30 on Saturday. I could put up a little sign telling everyone where to meet. You should plan to get together right outside the main speaking hall right after SWB's first talk. Her first talk is "The Joy of a Classical Education" from 9:30-10:30. There is a sitting area just outside the entrance to the presenter halls.
Conntact me in any way if you would like my help.

It could be a littttle, widddddddle yellow dot. Or a pink carnation! Or a brooch. How many people would be there with any kind of brooch at all?

I haven't said much until now because this time of year photography events pop up out of nowhere, and at the very last minute.
We have three events on Saturday, so that's out, but I am almost positive that I'll be there on Friday.

I must live under a rock. I had no idea SWB was speaking. Sat. is out, but We(hubby and I) will be there Fri. Woo- Hoo it was at a homeschool conference that I heard Susan speak and got a vision for how I would teach my son. She is such an inspiring teacher. And my hubby is excited to go with me! Yipee, I love this board.:)

Is anyone else bringing their children? Both of my boys would like to go. Jeffrey wants to hear Susan speak, and Hunter can't wait to listen to Jim Weiss in person.

I like the idea of at least getting the chance to say hello to other WTM Boardies after Susan's first talk. I'm really hoping to be there if my sister and I can get off early enough on Friday. I think it will be 3.5-4 hours of driving. It's going to be a loooong day...
