I've watched both Elizabeth & Elizabeth: The Golden Age. Then I watched the HBO miniseries from Netflix this week w/ Helen Mirren as the Queen.

Is there another version that is more accurate? I'm quite fixated w/ her these days. Not sure why.

Thanks & Happy Friday!!

I love them both, but Glenda Jackson did such an amazing job, I always think of her as Elizabeth.

King Elizabeth? I don't care for her, but I don't think she was a man, bay-bee!
/Austin Powers

;)

I don't think anyone has done a true-to-life biopic of her.

Follow up to this conversation...

I just watched The Other Bolyn Girl last week and it was fascinating to get a glimpse (albeit Hollywood-ized) into Elizabeth's mother's tumultuous life. It helps me understand a bit about Elizabeth's "issues"...

Jenny, I'll check out Glenda Jackson's Elizabeth. Thanks!

Love it! Thanks for the link!
Lately I'm fixated w/ Elizabethan England for some strange reason :)
It must be going around...

Kate CA and I both read Alison Weir's The Six Wives of Henry VIII earlier this year. Actually, Kate read it first and was then kind enough to send me her copy; I read it along with a small group of friends with whom I meet for a book club. It's worth your time since you're in that phase.:)

Thanks, Colleen! It sounds like a great summer read :) (what isn't?) It's $11 ish on Amazon.

Did you see The Other Bolyn Girl? I'm curious if it was remotely factual -- as compared to Weir's book.
