My dh needs a job and got an interview with a company last month. The interview went REALLY well and there was supposed to be a follow-up interview but they never called back. He sent a nice thank you to follow-up. Again, nothing. This would have been a great job for several reasons (location, pay, advancement, etc). He has since applied for a bunch of other positions but no interviews so far. (I have one tomorrow)
Now a month later the job has been reposted. Does he re-apply?
I think he should if only to let them know he's still available. He's thinking no because they already know about him.

Re-apply, but don't expect much even if he is interviewed again. I've been in that situation before. It can mean a lot of things, none of them good IMHO.

When job-hunting, it is wise to follow up weekly with any companies in which he is interested. So, in future, if he interviews, he follows up the very next day with a thank you note. A week later, he calls or emails in a friendly way to let them know he is interested in the position, and offering to provide any further information needed. He does this weekly until he is told specifically that they are not interested in him. This keeps him at the forefront of their minds, and it impresses them with his professionalism and ability to follow through.
In your specific situation, I do not think any harm can come of trying one more time. He should write a letter detailing what he likes about the company, and being specific about what skills he has that can fit their needs. After sending that letter, he should follow up within a week to see that they received it.
My dh has been job hunting for a while. Out of the many companies with which he interviewed, only one did not respond at all after an interview. A lack of any response is really, really rude and unprofessional. The company in which your husband is interested may choose to ignore his contact with him, or they may send a form letter stating they will not be following up with him at this time, or heck, they may even call him back in for a second interview. It's worth a try.
