How often do you schedule these two classes and for how long? Also, where do you plan to go with your kids after this?
I ask because your post, among with pretty much all of the others here, have influenced me greatly. I have bought the Thomas Jefferson Education book that you recommended (the wife's home companion) and have only had time to read bits and pieces of it.
However, I have started to make a few changes that I can sustain for now. My kids will be doing math now 6 days per week, not the other subjects for now. I'm trying to squeeze everything in as little time as possible so they can have free reading time. I have not prepared them for a T J education, because I'm just too unorganized. But I'm getting there. Right now, I'm just trying to be an example by changing myself first. It's coming along slowly.
Anyway, thanks for the input.

I do Lively Latin five days a week for 30-45 minutes. Latin Prep my daughter basically does when she chooses, though I do go over memory work with her daily. Both girls also do daily copywork in Latin. Soon, I will alternate the copywork with dictation for my older dd.
My plan:
Lively Latin I
Lively Latin II or Latin Prep I
Latin Prep II
Latin Prep III
So You Really Want to Learn Latin III
I'm not sure what we will use after this. Our goal is to be able to read and write well in Latin. The girls will likely take the SAT II test in Latin as well.
While we school six days - math and memory work are the only things I really encourage the girls to do all six days.

Thanks Melissa,
If LPrep 2 is not available when you want, which level of Latin Prep would you move into, 1 or 2? And if you do use Lively Latin 2, at which level of Latin Prep would you move into.
Thanks, I'm trying to decide on next year's curriculum.

If Lively Latin II is not ready I will go with Latin Prep I. Even though some of the work will be review, Latin Prep moves much faster than LL. Also because Latin Prep is written for older children (10+) I don't see it as only a question of whether the child has the Latin skills but also the English grammar skills, writing skills and even the maturity to appreciate the humor. :) If some of the vocabulary and exercises are review, my dd still will not have the experience needed for the actual volume of work required. I would rather she go into the program with more confidence.
After Lively Latin II, I think we could go into Latin Prep II or maybe the last part of Latin Prep I - I don't know how much of a jump there will be between Lively Latin I and II as far as actual work load.
I find Lively Latin a much better choice for children under ten and if we finish Level I and I feel confident that Level II is coming shortly we would wait for Level II rather than pushing my younger dd (who really isn't as self-motivated yet) into a more demanding program like Latin Prep.

Thanks for the information. My older two are almost 10 and 8. They are both doing LC1, but I wish I'd have been aware of Lively Latin. She is ready for Latin Prep, he is not. But I think if she sees Lively Latin, she'll also want to do it. He wants to do what does and doesn't want a separate program; but I'm sure he'd love Lively Latin, especially if she participates in the lessons.
This is probably what I'll do. Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions.
I appreciate it greatly,
:)

Melissa,
Hi, I am wondering if you could share some of the things you like about Lively Latin. I have some questions regarding the beta version and the way some topics are introduced. I would appreciate any help you could give. Thanks
