when I subscribe to a thread, the board automatically returns to the original post. How do I get back to the board from there? If I click the "back" button, I end up on the subscription page again :o and have to click multiple times to get back to the board I was on, or go into one of the menus, but then I lose my place and have to sort through all of the messages again:confused:

I think I understand what you are asking...

To get back to the home page (listing all the forums), you can just click the big logo at the top of the page. To get back to the specific forum you were just in, you can click the link to it in the breadcrumb just below the big logo (e.g. The Well-Trained Mind Forums (aka Hive Mind) > How To and Test Posting) <--- that last one is a link to the How To forum.

Does that make sense?

Also, if you are using FF or IE (maybe not IE7 though), there is a tiny little down arrow just to the left of the big back button. If you click that, you will see a list of your previous pages. You can click one of those to take you back.

Thank you Queen Zarga!

I don't have an arrow next to the back button; I know how to get to the home page, but I'll try clicking on the "bread crumb". Any idea why it's called a "bread crumb"?

Think Hansel and Gretel: they leave breadcrumbs to find their way back home!

In my browser, which I realize might not be like yours, at the top left side of the screen is the Go Back arrow and the Go Forward arrow. Just to the right of the Go Forward arrow is a small black triangle pointing down. This is just to the left of where you would type in a URL.

If you click that downward triangle, it will list your recent history. Choose the page before the one where you subscribed, and it will jump you right back to where you were. Which is usually several clicks quicker than the folloow-the-bread-crumbs method. :)

Hope that helps.
