My dd11 really wants to learn Spanish. The new church we've been attending is starting their Spring homeschool classes (like a co-op of sorts) and she will be taking a Spanish class once a week (focusing on conversation as well as customs/characteristics of Spanish speaking countries. I'm looking ahead to next year. What is out there for a dc her age? Side note: I can speak and read Spanish fairly well (although it is amazing how much you lose when you don't use it!) so I don't necessarily need something to teach for me, KWIM? I doubt I can afford Rosetta Stone unless I can find it used. My other dc are 2 (she already knows how to count to ten in Spanish from Dora books/videos!), 5, 6, 8 and 9 but they may or may not participate. So, to make a long post short...what are some programs I should consider? I'd like her to learn more than just basic vocab. She's certainly old enough to learn the grammar.

So You Really Want to Learn Spanish (http://www.galorepark.co.uk/subjects-home_schoolers-spanish.html)

Spanish is my first language although I never studied it formally. My 11 yr old is enjoying this. The 9 yr old dropped out of our lessons right after we moved in October. DD was moving way faster than he could keep up. I do not own the cds so I can't answer question about that but we are almost done with book 1. Take a look at the website and the sample pages. They cover grammar very well. They will also have your child reading, writing, listening and thinking in Spanish. I don't know if you are using Latin Prep but it is very similiar.
