Wow. (http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/news/la-me-pollack27-2008may27,0,1858192.story) Do you ever feel that you don't pay much attention to some people until they've died? I hate it when that happens. I just realized how much of his work I really enjoyed.

73. Doesn't that just seem far too young to die?
*sigh*

I remember when I was little and there were a couple of prominent actors who died within a short period of time. I realized that some day *all* of the popular entertainers would be gone and I was devastated that some day we would be without Bill Cosby.
Thankfully he's still here, and I wonder now why I was so focused on him. Maybe that was the period when my brother listened to his albums non-stop and I couldn't imagine life without his voice.

 I remember seeing Tootsie when I was younger and I thought it was so cool that a director would have a part in his own movie. That is sad news indeed.

Yup. 73 seems younger and younger to me with each passing year. ~sigh~

I remember when I heard that Danny Kaye died. I was in college, and my roommate Pam (Queen of All Musicals) and I were very sad. That was when I first really sat down and thought about how it was very likely that all of the actors/prominent figures I'd grown up with would die in my lifetime. And it was a very strange feeling. We actually made a list that included all kinds of public figures, especially those who were a good deal older than we or in poor health. I'm sorry to say that nearly all of the people on that list are indeed dead now.

It's so weird, dh & I watched Michael Clayton again this afternoon. Yes, he seemed way too young. He was a great talent and will be greatly missed.

Aw darn daggummit I loved his work both as a director and actor. 73 seems so young-I will miss his performances as an actor most. If you like great acting see Michael Clayton amazing on all counts...
