I think my microwave just died. Is there anything I should check?

I was sitting here typing while dd was heating up a late supper when suddenly I heard a loud ZZZTZT! Dh checked the little gfi button thingies on the outlets (and shut down my computer) and the breaker box downstairs. Everything else seems okay. Does this mean my microwave is really dead? Is there a special prayer to say for microwaves? If it is dead, what kind should I get to replace it?

I always have luck googling "repair" and the name of the brand. We have fixed a washer, dryer, and stove with instructions we found on the internet.
