:party:I've just made the last order for my upcoming school year. Woohoo, party time. I have been agonizing over this as I am just starting classical mixed with a nice healthy dose of CM. Silly me, once I actually started praying over it, it became a lot easier. My husband thought I was going to make myself sick over this.
Anyhow, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has given me wonderful advice and encouragement along the way. I've learned so much from all of you and from everyone's blogs. I know that there are alot of different views here and beliefs, but what an amazing forum. Everyone from all different walks has just been wonderful to me. I want to start a blog myself now. (Now I can have something new to fret over.:D)
Thank you again!

Brindee!!! Hi, your posts have been some I've looked for. I've got a bunch of things coming, some for now and some for later. We just moved here from another state and so things didn't quite get done and now I completely changed philosophies. I really like this new one. OK, so let's see:
Math: Miquon, and Saxon
Science: Just ordered Apologia Generial Science for dd12 (she is so excited, we looked at the samples and she loved it!) With the youngers Real Science 4 Kids and Considering God's Creation with supplements.
Spelling:For dd12 Megawords , dd10 AAS level one (he is reading ok now but is still struggling with spelling)

Not sure what I did. I'll continue here geez. I'm not all that great with computers lol.
We switched from bju in spelling. ds10 was not retaining well.
Grammar: I've bought PLL and ILL to see where my son is as and I will use them with my younger two dd's when they are ready. Also JAG for ds10 starting in Jan. Analytical Grammar for my oldest dd.(She really is excited)
Vocabulary: English from the Roots Up and Vocabulary Vine.
Latin: Latina Christiana I (We'll see if we like doing latin :)
ds wants to learn greek so he can study the new testament in the original language (he blesses my heart so)
but we aren't doing that now.
Writing: Writing Tales I and Understanding Writing.
History: All American History with Biblioplan supplemented in. (ds really wanted to do american history, so that is where we started in our cycle. dd12 doesn't care as long as she is learning something)
Geography: Trailguide to US Geography. We'll do the world course when we start ancients.
Lots of Bob Books and Readers for the younger ones. Also using the site of 1000 great books. I'd have to go look it up, but for good books for them all to read this is a great site. There are so many great lists with wonderful books that I will peruse them to find books to go along with science and history.
I will also add in studing composers as suggested by biblioplan. Nothing major. Just listen to some music, color a page and read a little about each person.
I will add handwriting in the form of copywork, which is something I just learned about as well.
I probably left so many things out but this is a great start. I am not going to do all right now. I will start slowly and work our way into it.
If I left anything out, I'm almost afraid to ask what it may be :) but as always any input is welcomed.
Thanks.
