Dh took me to see The Police last night. It was so much fun! They were really great. They were my favorite group in the 80s.
The strange thing was that I saw The Police in concert 25 years ago, when I was in high school. It seemed so unbelievable that it was 25 years! And I never imagined back then that I'd see The Police again at the age of 41. (With the new Veritas catalog in my purse. ;))

:lol::lol: You took a homeschooling catalog to a concert!!! At least it wasn't the Rainbow Resource catalog. I laugh, only because I'm jealous. I talked my high school writing teacher into letting me do a report on the Police. She didn't think I could pull it off, but I got an A.
Have you heard Sting's "Journey and the Labyrinth" cd? It's all John Dowland songs.

The catalog just came in the mail yesterday, and I checked the mail when I was going out the door. So I stuck it in my purse, and looked at it a little in the car. I just thought it was funny when the security person at the entrance said she needed to look through my bag real quick. I thought, "How many other people at this rock concert have a homeschool catalog in their purse?"

Good thing she didn't consider it contraband. Can you imagine having to choose the Veritas catalog or the Police???

Well THAT's a no-brainer! Catalog? What catalog? Where's Sting?

No, wait! I've got it! You were there to get Mr. Sumner's professional opinion on some literature! (Didn't he once teach English?)

WAAAAH! I'm green with envy, Wendi! :( The Police and Elvis Costello played locally last week, and I could. just. scream. I never saw Sting and Co. back in the day...

song's Every Breath You Take. I haven't been to a concert since 1989. I really need to get "a life". I am going to go to a concert. I married at 20 and have since been very mature and boring.. I believe at 38 its time to have fun again. I'm so jealous of your night out.

Um, I could only understand about 5% of the words he sang. Enunciate, people!! Might have helped if he hadn't been chewing gum. Good instrumentals, though.
Sting should shave his beard, but he looks great. (He's still a very sexy man, and a great rock musician.) Stewart and Andy look good, too. Stewart makes some funny faces when he's playing drums, though.

I'm glad to hear it's a good show. I'm seeing them at SPAC in Saratoga, NY on Aug. 1st. I'll bring a copy of the WTM and wave it around just in case any of you women are going, too.....

Y'all are all making me jealous. I would so love to see both the Police and Elvis Costello.
My two favorite bands have already done shows this year. One, I just could not make it to. The other cancelled :glare: Now I'm going to move and be too broke for tickets. :glare: wah!
No, really, I'm glad you had a good time. Anyone else going should have extra fun, for me, okay?

It's funny, I've seen both the Police and Mr. Costello a number of times (in my younth) and I have no great desire to see them again. Not sure why. I guess, since the Police have no new material and Elvis is doing lounge music. Now if I could have swung seeing Radiohead and Feist, I'd be a happy camper.

I am so jealous! We frantically tried to buy tickets several times at the begining of the tour, but unless you were a scalper or an organization buying a thousand tickets at a time, it just wasn't possible.
I never got to go to any concerts when I was growing up. My parents just were not into those types of things. But, dh has seen everyone in concert; his mom took him to see anyone and everyone who passed by even remotely close. It would have been like having a chance to go back and doing something I never got to do, and with dh even.
I'm glad you got to go!!!! It's nice to know that someone managed to get tickets, and I'm glad you had a good time, even if you had to take the Veritas catalog, LOL!
