White rum, tequila, bourbon (in minuscule quantities), or vodka that's only part-way on its way to becoming vanilla extract?

Maybe bourbon? I can't imagine that tequila would taste any good. If you had any...kahlua or irish cream might be good.

And then let us know which is best! :D

Definitely Baileys Irish.

But why would you want to put coffee in it. Kahlua?

But I still want to know why you'd ruin good rum.

If you were to ask my grandmother--it would be some coffee with her vodka. :) For me, it's Baileys or Kaluha... Vodka is good, so is scotch... but not bourbon or tekillya....I've never had white rum...that might be good..

When I invite my friends for coffee, I serve Kahlua or Bailey's Irish Cream. If buget is a concern, you can feel free to buy less expensive knock-offs since you are mixing with coffee. Those who put cream or milk in their coffee go for the Bailey's (no regular cream necessary) and those who drink their coffe black use the Kahlua.

My friend Sue likes coming to my house for coffee!:D

I guess I should add that I don't usually start my day with those additives.

If I had Bailey's, I wouldn't be asking such a dumb question!!

Alas, I'll just go with milk this time, but I was kinda hoping somebody would tell me, "Oh, tequila and coffee is *terrific*!!"

Personally, my favorite is Kahlua.

But I haven't had it in ages. I guess my favorite that I actually drink is cinnamon syrup. Now if only there was a cinnamon liquor, LOL!

I'd vote for rum. In fact, that's the standard add-in to alcoholic coffee in Venezuela.

Tequila and coffee is terrific. I can't imagine combining them, but here's one brave soul's idea (http://www.ineedcoffee.com/02/09/mexican/)

Something tells me you'd be better off with the milk for now.

And anyway, Sarah, are you having a rough night? http://www.pic4ever.com/images/283.gif

I would go for the "vodka-not-yet-vanilla." :D

A stewardess on Delta introduced my husband to Amarula and coffee because they were out of Kahlua.

I drink the Amarula with a little cream and an ice cube and it is so decadent. It has a hint of orangy citrus in a chocolaty, creamy beverage. Yummy

When I used to drink one of my favorites was tequila & kahlua. It was called a Black Friday at the place I was known to frequent.

Irish Coffees are great--the caffeine picks you up, the IRISH whiskey calms you down, the whipped cream smoothes it all out.

Peppermint Schnapps. It's called a "Peppermint Patty" - make your hot chocolate, pour in a shot of the schnapps, top with whipped cream, and enjoy.

I imagine with coffee, you could add chocolate and the peppermint schnapps and it would be like a Starbucks peppermint mocha.

I first had the Peppermint Patty in the ski lodge at Timberline on Mt. Hood, Oregon. Now I make them at home. Yum.

Well, Irish creme is pretty good, but that hot buttered rum coffee is to die for. Butter (yes, butter) rum, and I don't remember what else. I found it through a Google search after reading a thread here about some people drinking butter in their coffee.

Ever had goldschlager (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goldschl%C3%A4ger)? Of course, I never mixed it with coffee , so I don't know how that would work.

Ever hear of Hot **** (http://www.drinksmixer.com/desc637.html)?

I don't know. I've never had it in coffee. From what I remember, it's a little like drinking a shot of liquified, alcoholic Red Hots.

Part of the product name gets bleeped out automatically. How about "Sweltering Structure Built By Beavers + the Letter N"? Bring on the dam(n) jokes:p

Amaretto or Rum would be nice, if I could still drink coffee :(
