I am paper person. Little bits everywhere. I save links to stuff I want to print and then don't.
I'm thinking that for next year I will use a folder per week. Anyone do this?
I was just going to do file folders or something. Put a topic on the tab. Then I can fill up stuff in each one.

No, but I have paper everywhere! Would the folder be of your "to do" stuff for each week? I would think that after I paid the dentist bill in "week 1" I would want to then file it in a folder with all the dentist stuff. I sure wouldn't want to go back and guess which week I paid the dentist if I needed to access it later! But maybe I misunderstood what you are proposing?

You know what? I've never thought of that before but it sounds like a really good idea! Hmmmm... I might have to think about that for next year... decide how many weeks we want to do school, label the folders week 1 through whatever, and then start dividing up work assignments and unit study (content topics) by week. When we get to week four, we open the folder and there it all is... everything we're supposed to cover that week.
I like this better than dividing it by tabs in a binder. Dont have to three hold punch and you can fit anything and everything in your folder (say you found an article or magazing or something that you want to introduce when you are covering a certain topic in history).
Hey, great idea! But no experience with it here so I don't know how it would actually work out...

I have a file folder thingy that hangs on the wall. They are plastic folders, 6 of them. At the beginning of the week, I print out all of the stuff my prek-ers will need for the week and put it in a folder according to days. The 6th folder holds the printables and such for our calendar.
So, I do sorta the same thing, only daily every week instead of weekly every year. LOL

Yes, I was thinking 36 folders (or perhaps manila file folder for the filing cabinet). Then I could write History and Science topics on the tab. That way I can quickly see the topics. Then I can print out memory work, math sheet, History, Science....notebook stuff etc. etc. etc. Stuff I get from Currclick or see on Enchanted Learning. Instead of trying to plan a week for it I can just print it off when it comes up and ....Just keep stuffing it in there.
Reading Logs
Reading List
Library Lists
Learning Logs (I've been doing a whole family one, but I think I might works toward individuals this year...not sure yet)

Robin I do like this, too. I pick up magazines for cutting up and the occasional article. Eventually they build up and I recycle them all. But, it would be so nice to say...Oh yeah we are going to cover Jamestown next year...find the folder and plop it in.

I don't, but I like the way that sounds! I have so many great things saved up, but since they are all on my hard drive, I forget about them. I'm going to be watching this thread with interest!:lurk5:
