Has anyone seen the 2nd edition General Science Apologia? I was going to start general science this year. I'm not sure if I should switch to the new edition.

I just bought the older edition used. I was told that there wasn't much difference in General Science and Physical Science, but the upper levels it was important to have the newer edition. I figured I would save some money since I was spending a lot on Video Text Algebra.

I just taught a co-op class in Apologia chemistry. The main difference in between the two editions of text books was the look of it. The 2nd edition looked sleeker, with the labs set off in color boxes (so easier to see). There was one additional lab in the 2nd edition. I think that was it.

So I would imagine a similar finding in the General Science books.

I'm honestly curious about this as well, as their site says that if this is done in a co-op setting everyone has to be using the same book. (To me, that implies "big" differences, not just page number issues.)

I have the 1st edition, and I'm thinking I will stick with that (esp. as I have already made a schedule to go with it) unless someone can tell me a good reason to switch (like improved labs / explanations or some such).

Our cooperative Bio teacher has concurred with this gal. Very similar, but they did make us switch to the new one for the class. I have the old General Science one and liked it and may stick with it.
