I'm looking for a board book for my littlest guy. It's one that all of my children enjoyed tremendously as toddlers, and our copy is simply worn out. I can't find it new, but it's available from a variety of sellers in Amazon Marketplace.
What I'm wondering, and what I always wonder when I'm looking for a used book online, is why the prices range from 40 cents to $87.00 for the same book in "good" condition? Who are the people who actually think someone's going to buy their $87 board book? This type of person is a mystery to me. If this was unusual I'd just shrug and think it was a typo, but I see this almost every time I'm looking for books.
Just curious, and hoping someone can enlighten me. :bigear:

I've noticed that too. All I can come up with is that these sellers must be very proud of their books, and don't really want to sell them.

Oftentimes it is a glitch in Amazon's program.
Other times it is due to the seller's inexperience with grading and pricing books.

I see that a lot--and at half.com, too--and I wonder if they are using some automated program to set the price and maybe it doesn't work too well? Because I just can't imagine that a human being would do that.

I dunno...if you look on ebay you will find curricula that is still in print being sold used at a higher price than you can buy it new from the publisher. Sing, Spell, Read and Write is one example that comes to mind.

Too bad it is not Usborne. If it were, you could get it replaced for 1/2 price. :(
