My 16 yo dd has been in Austria going to school for 6 weeks. She wrote home all excited because after a conversation she was mistaken for a German.

Of course that means her accent isn't quite right- her Austrian family much prefers a Viennese accent.

Anyway, she was so happy. I was too.

ah! Great feeling! I still get a thrill when it happens to me! Funily, Americans tell me I have a French accent but Canadians don't, nor Brits (they assume I'm 100% English Canadian)
