doing 4-day weeks. We're mainly doing math, writing & reading. History will be easy to sneak in since we all love history. No Latin since my dc's Fall teacher told me to lay off Latin for awhile (switching from grammar to reading method).
It feels so good to slow down! I'm exhausted!!
I just got back from a much-needed vacation w/ my family and I spent a lot of time thinking/praying about this last school year. It was great to take a step back and examine the year.
Anyway, rambling to self here. I was just curious what everyone's plans are -- so I don't feel like I'm the only one putting things in a much lower gear... :auto:

Then dh called and was stranded at work alone w/no lunch. So, I decided to skip the last 3 Math and Grammar lessons, just read History in SOTW, and start summer early.
We went to the library after lunch and the kids picked out books on different subjects. (I used Jessie's list in WTM to guide them.) I plan on doing the Summer Bridge books, and have reading after lunch each day. That's it til August. (Ugh, that doesn't sound so very far away!)

we did that last year actually and it was *SO* liberating! we cut back to 4 day school weeks, dropped latin/greek, and cut out several extra curriculars that were just "something to do" but didn't really enrich the boys' lives in any way. i think it was one of the best decisions i've ever made regarding HSing. good luck!

We've been slowing down for weeks! We've finished spelling, handwriting, Latin, Grammar, and Bible. We'll finish history and math this week and will probably have one more week of science and then we're done! We'll have several weeks of doing nothing, but then we'll pick up a few things for summer--nothing painful. Just a little history and art I think.

We're doing 4 days weeks too, but because science didn't get done much this year (my 1st year hs'ing) we'll do science during the summer. Our boys love it anyway, so it's not really "school."
We're covering SOTW history, reading, SOME math review (they finished their books early), and LA.
I NEED my Fridays to catch up on work around the house, plus the boys have their chores too!
We're on week 34 so only 2 weeks to go!

We finished all our curriculum that I had planned for the year so we're down to math and reading. I don't like to stop those for summer. We plan to start TOG this summer so we can ease into it. I did 4 day weeks for too long. We really stepped it up in January and while it was hard, it was also a good step for the whole family.
We may do 4 day weeks if we're in a good position with TOG but otherwise, we're ramping up rather than slowing down.
