I don't know how filtered you want your computer. We have Hedgebuilders on ours. It filters everything. No u tube, no facebook no nada . We also have alot of ads blocked. Sometimes it makes me crazy but it works. Any other suggestions?

Cyberpatrol is great, but it really isn't compatible with Vista despite claims to the contrary. I have it on my XP computer and it works great. It keeps crashing the Vista computer though. I'm hoping that their next version is truly Vista compatible. For now, I'm using a free filtering program combined with parental controls on the Vista computer.

I like Cyberpatrol a lot better because I can set time of day limits and amount of time limits and they can be different for each child and for each day of the week.

We use and really like Bsafe. The administrator (me) can set the level of security on specific sites and can allow or block certain ads or sites. If a "good" site is blocked, a small window pops up where my son can ask me to type in the password to allow that particular site (I have a lot of pop culture stuff blocked, which often comes up on news sites).
If you sign up through Focus on the Family website, you get a reduced price.

Its great and works well blocking sites and inappropriate pop ups.

We like Safe Eyes. It's external, so a kid can't go around it. You can put in websites you want blocked, too, and you can put in how much time they can spend online.
