I realize a homeschool board is an odd place to ask this, but just in case you're in-the-know . . .

When I was doing our taxes this year, I took a look at the childcare deduction. As I understand, it applies to "money paid for childcare while you worked or looked for work."

What about while you're in school? Or studying for school? My school program requires an internship and that means I'll need childcare (eventually).

I certainly don't want to do anything unethical, but don't you think that would qualify?

tia for any insight you can offer

Being a student may qualify as working. Go to the link I posted, scroll down and go to the link for the Form 2441 instructions. On page 3 of the instructions, read the section about a spouse who is a student.
