Not today, but next week!
Next Saturday I will spend the day at a swim meet. In the Arizona sun. For 6 hours. While watching making sure that ds4 doesn't go into the water. So that I can watch my dd9 compete in 2 events for a total of 5 minutes of water time.
Next week I will join you!!!

Oh man. I remember swim meets. My ds (10) swam for three years for the summer. It was SOOOOOO hard trying to keep the baby out of the water. My advice? (Even though you didn't ask!) Hire a sitter!!!! I hired a sitter for my dd during the baseball games and it means that I get to watch and talk to the moms!!!!! (Gasp - I KNOW!!!! It is SOOOOO freeing!!!)
Cool - next week. I'm marking it on my calendar!!!

He's been gone for three days and I had to do all the Saturday soccer games by myself...I'm exhausted. The wine should taste good.

I'd love to join you for a cocktail!
We spent the day at the ball fields, too. It was a glorious sunny day (finally!) and our struggling team played a great game, and they won (finally!) by a considerable margin.

Congrats to your team!!!! My dss all lost today, unfortunately. But, my older boys lost to a team that had SUCH great sports (think, when my ds hit a double, the 2nd baseman gave him a high five for such a great hit!), that it made it easier to lose!
I think I'll ask my hubby to make a run!

Bad, bad Jennifer. I just made a run to the local gas station and picked some up. Not lemonade, but Mike's cranberry/pomegranite, or something like. Lemonade gives me a tummy ache.

Or anything else, for that matter!!!???
After spending nearly all day at the baseball fields, I'm ready for one! Care to join me????
I am going for the "anything else" right now. The Mike's ran out half way through mowing the lawn. I moved on to PBR and white wine (not mixed, btw).
Here is how my week has gone....On Sunday, dh came home from a run with an acute hernia (told me he knew it was coming, but was hoping it would go away - keep in mind we are 6 weeks from moving and changing insurance, buying a house, etc.), my in-laws arrived for a 10 day visit, and no one remembered it was Mother's Day except me. My mil, who is here to help me prepare for the move, won't get out of her head that I do not want her to pack, I want her to watch the girls, help the girls, etc. so that I can get work done and start purging, etc. I had to spend 11 hours straight with her, mostly in the car, on Tuesday. I managed to push my way through the week and then today happened.....
After explaining to her that a 40 year old woman was probably more likely able to mow our hilly yard than a 71 year old woman (who was incapable of bringing her suitcases into the house, btw), I asked that she help the girls clear all the toys and branches from the yard, so that I could mow. Well, instead of doing that, she chose to pull weeds, trim bushes, rake leaves from a flower bed, and give pruning shears to my 6 y.o. I lost it as I had to throw things across the yard while her nonsense carried on.
Anyway, she gets it in her head what she wants to do and ignores what you need her to do. And, she is here to be helpful.
So, that is a very long vent about why I have exhausted the Mike's (there was only one) and moved on to other things.
Cheers, Ladies!

Seriously - we need to talk!!!! Are you married to my BIL???? We have the same MIL!!!! During our last move, my MIL so annoyed my oldest ds that he refused to go out to eat with her at our favorite local restaurant. It was so sad!!! (I totally supported ds, BTW!) She did all those same things that your MIL did - really!!!
So, how is your dh? Does he need surgery? My dh has diverticulitis that tends to come on when he's most stressed. VERY annoying!!!
My MIL is coming for a visit Memorial Day weekend. Her premise for the visit? To see my boys play baseball. She decided that THAT was the time she NEEDED to come. Well, only ONE boy has a game that weekend, but it's in a town so far away, that she can't go (45 minutes). So, she'll sit at home alone, 'cause I 'ain't missin' it!!!!
Ugh. I really do feel for you! Where are you moving? Can you buy the house across the street? I really think we'd get along!!!

I feel your pain! My dh only has a sister, but your mil sounds much like mine.
Dh needs surgery and sees the surgeon on Monday. MIL is supposed to leave on Wed (and will leave on Wed.). She can't stay to watch my girls while dh is in the hospital because she has to get home to feed her neighbors cat. Yes, that' right. She can't call the neighbor and have her find other arrangements for the cat. So, my parents are driving 6 hours down here to help.
Perhaps our mil's are related?! :tongue_smilie:
Good luck with that visit. Just make sure you have plenty of Mike's on hand. :001_smile:

Thanks! Going for a refill now. I do have to ask, I was not particularly fond of the Pomegranate and the case pack have berry and cherry (I think), how do those flavors compare to the pamegranate? Actually, I liked the taste, but it upset m tummy a bit afterward.
So, ye expert of Mike's, what say you?

I haven't seen a cherry one! The last case I got was lemon, lime, cranberry, and pomegranate. Before that, the rest the same except the pomegranate was berry. The berry is sweeter than the pomegranate, I believe. I like a bit of a whang though, so I like the pomegranate one a lot.

Bummer, I was hoping for a cherry flavored one. Got kind of excited for a second there. Cranberry is very good too. I just don't care for the plain lemon one. It just seems so, plain. I don't know. I like mine "fancy" now I guess.
