if you're looking for French books, you can take a look at "Comme des invitées de marque".

It's an unschooler approach though, but is written by a Quebecois.

Thanks Cleo, I'll have a look at it. MIL is actually quite supportive of our homeschooling (especially since there aren't any French schools around here), but she certainly has some misunderstandings about homeschooling and there is no way she could read an English book.
