We had our church spaghetti dinner last night, and I completely stole your cake auction idea to pair with our talent show, and practically doubled the amount of money we raised! The dinner was to benefit our youth group's mission trip scheduled for Mexico City in June, and at last count I heard we'd raised over $3,000. We auctioned 11 cakes, and raised $550! I could not believe how much a simple German chocolate cake brought in! Grin!
