I have an 11ds and a 12dd who hasn't done much writing...just smatterings here and there. Since we will school during the summer (less structured & time), I am wanting to focus on writing, but not completely drop grammar. I am mainly concerned that they will forget what we have accomplished this year.
After reading Why Writing Fails by SWB, I feel like three things are important to me right now: outlining, writing narrations from others work, and grammar.
I think I have come up with a plan, working only 3 days per week.
On Week One:
Continue my CLE Language Arts 1x per week
Do outlining 2x per week
Week Two: Use some of the Classical Writing that is still sitting on my shelf, rewriting the stories there and do this all three days of the week.
Then rotate each week.
Is this a good plan? I figured it's better than no writing at all! Then in the fall I will start with Writing Strands 4 and continue with CLE Language Arts.
Any thoughts?
