View Full Version : Those who use the elliptical, how do you vary your workouts?

Our Precor does not have presets, I've been randomly switching resistance and intensity, but want more of a program to follow. Our recumbent bike has several presets I switch back and forth from and Fitness magazine recently had a really challenging hill work out for the treadmill, but I haven't seen any for the eliptical.

One word - intervals.

3 minutes high intensity and 1 minute to recover. Ad nauseum. Makes me want to die.

You could probably use the same recommendations for the treadmill on the elliptical, other than changing the plane.

Same here (almost), normal strides per minute is about 160 so it's 2 minutes at 160 and 3 minutes at 200 and above.
