I chose "other" when they asked me which school from my zip code was mine.

This is great! I really want this. :001_huh: I don't know how I should fill it out. Maybe I'll give them a call.

I told them I was headmaster of "homeschool" and the rest was kind of obvious from there.

I presume this won't work on a PC, right?

I just signed up for it. It is guides that you download. They are in pdf format. I haven't looked to thoroughly yet. So I don't think you have to have an apple.

It looks like it is a guide, not a program so anyone could use it. Although, I assume they reference Apple products. The huge majority of people in the video industry either use Apple products like Final Cut Pro or an Adobe suite anyway so if the goal is to get kids making movies it simply makes sense that they become familiar with Apple products.

Thanks so much for this! I put in my zip code and a list of schools came up in a drop down menu. I chose "my school is not on this list". Then it asked me what I did and chose "other". I put "home educator" in the box that appeared. Then I just clicked on the button and it started downloading automatically.

BTW, after it downloaded there was another button that you could click if you were interested in becoming an Apple Training Center. I figured "why not?" and clicked it. It took to me to a page that gave detailed info on how to become a certified Apple hardware technician (you basically buy their training kit and then take an industry standard exam through prometric).

I didn't even now they had anything like that!!! My 19yo son just got a job at Best Buy in the computer department (he is a mac aficionado) and he will be so thrilled to see that he can actually get certified to troubleshoot and fix Macs. This could really help him advance in his job - so

Thank you very much for sharing this!

Does he already have plans to work on Apple certification? My husband wants to finish up his MCSE first, then start working on the Apple equivalent.

He didn't even know about Apple certification until today thanks to this thread. I don't think he really wants to get into PCs much, but you never know. He may have to in order to get a good-paying job. I really think he'll go for this Apple training first now that he knows about it.

Our 13 yr old is working on his A+ Cert but he will love working on an Apple Cert also. We bought our first iMac last year and are so happy with it.
