Is this Latin translation correct?

Latin - Hi sunt ornamenta mea.

That's not right, is it? Should it be hic or haec? And mea -- that's our, right, not mine?

OKay, I *think* that's correct. "Hi" is plural nominative, and "mea" means "my."

You want haec here. Ornamenta is neuter plural. Hi would be masculine plural. :)

ETA: You wouldn't be strolling the streets of Rome with a certain runaway slave and his girlfriend, would you? Or maybe you're just negotiating the division of dragon hoard? ;)

I am actually attempting to quote the story of Cornelia's Jewels (in Baldwin's Fifty Famous Stories) for a shadowbox portrait frame I'm making. However, now that I know how to defend my jewelry in the mother tongue, I shall nevermore use English in my battle with the dragons.

Just so you don't think my comment about the runaway slave is entirely random, Lingua Latina introduces the word ornamentum and the demonstrative hic, haec, hoc in a story about a runaway slave buying his girlfriend a ring with money he'd stolen from his master. Cornelia makes much more sense, though! I don't know how it appears in the original, but I would probably say "Ecce ornamenta mea!" or "Ecce gemmae meae!" (my gems) for her line.

In Cap. VII, right, Pvella Et Rosa? I sometimes browse the stories just for fun. I can only honestly go up through Cap. II without reaching for a dictionary. Cap. III looks like universal parent/teacher language to me, so I read it through without looking things up. Cap IV is beyond me. I enjoy Lingua, but I should really be focusing my efforts on Henle. It's so hard to tell myself not to do the fun Latin.
