Summer Field Trips

Where are you going for Summer Field Trips? Or where did you go this year and any tips?

California: I know it's not summer yet, but we just went to La Brea Tar Pits in L.A. TIP: Make sure the dig sites are open for viewing and the "hands on" exhibits are going to be going on. Otherwise a nice park and not a bad stop when seeing other sites. Interesting.

Zoo - LA and Santa Ana and Orange County; Santa Barbara has a nice one, too.
Science Museum - Exposition Park in LA is free but for parking
Beach - of course; preferrably with tide pools or small waves, LOL. Cabrillo, Mother's Beach (Seal Beach), Corona del Mar
Libraries & Museums - free a/c, need I say more?
Nature walks - lots of water along, though
Sculpture Tour - One town near us requires developers to put in public art, so we'll do the tour of the city with a guide that tells us about each item
County Fair - lots of water and bring your own food - we always have entries via 4-H, so much motivation to attend!
