Subscription change?

My subscription list seems to have changed. I didn't notice that was listed as a change made by Bob in the Admin. announcement.

Before today, my subscription list would only show if the posts I had subscribed to had any new posts. Now they stay listed all the time, regardless of a new post or not. I'm just wondering how it can be changed back? I don't have it on email notify and I don't want it on email notify. I liked being able to go to my CP and see if there were any new posts. Can that be changed back to that again? If so, how?
