Themen Aktuell- Question

Does anyone know if this online Hueber site (http://www.hueber.de/shared/uebungen/themen-aktuell/lerner/uebungen/index.php) replaces the need to buy the Themen Arbeitsbuch or if it is just a supplementary practice?

It's supplementary.

The place we're staying has Themen Neu 1 (which is either the older or the Swiss version) and all the explanations are in the text. It appears to me that you really need the tapes, Kursbuch, and Arbeitsbuch. You can't even answer all the questions without the tape - it's not just repeating dialogues found in the text. The website is icing on the cake. Nice icing though - there are teacher materials and tests there.
