Amazon seems to have a better price (at least right now). Is everything the same? Amazon looks to have the text in a second ed and the activity guide in a third edition? Are these the most current editions? And which do you think is better to have: the text in hardcover or paperback?

I either buy from Amazon (best price, and I have a Prime Membership, so free 2-day shipping), or a brick and mortar store (Barnes and Noble usually - I have a discount card there as well), when I see the book and want it RIGHT NOW. ;)
Peace Hill Press does carry some things that Amazon doesn't sell (Student Pages to the activity books comes to mind - I just ordered a set of those tonight), and I happily buy those from them direct. But some things are significantly cheaper at Amazon, and with the free shipping, I can't justify the extra cost to buy from PHP.
Oh yeah - the versions are all the same - the most current. And I buy the paperback because I prefer paperback books in general.

So far, Rock Solid Inc. has been the cheapest place for me to buy curriculum. I don't know if they are selling the 1st or 2nd edition, but you can ask. Shipping is free for $75 and up.

I thought I checked the Rainbow Resource price for SOTW recently - with prices comparable to Amazon (though you have to order quite a bit for free shipping). Admittedly - the editions confused me as well.
Happy Shopping!

Amazon is definately the cheapest. I tried to buy it used for months. No one can beat Amazon.
