Those of you who have undertaken this unpleasant, though gratifying task, what brands/types have you used? I want to remove about four layers of paint from our kitchen woodwork. Chemicals, whatever it takes......I just want the previous owners' handiwork GONE!

Any tips?

It's safer and the fumes smell like fresh oranges!

It's called Citristrip.

Does it work on multiple layers of old paint?
Do you think Home Depot or Lowes carries it?

Yes...I've started using it on an old doll bed of mine. I bought it at Home Depot...but, think Lowe's carries it, also. I told the guy at HD that the doll bed was about 100 years old and I wanted to take off the 3 or 4 layers of paint. He suggested this because it's gentle on wood...no harsh chemicals. If you do a search for it on-line...the site will tell you all the little "extras" you will need...like the correct steel wool and scraper, etc. Or, you can just ask the help where you buy it.

HTH!
