She is 10yo (4th grade) finishing up R&S 6. It's easy for her, but I wouldn't say she enjoys it. Her sister will continue with R&S 7 next year, but I would like to have something different for the 10yo. Perhaps something with a workbook to maintain her skills? I imagine having her do R&S7 after this one year away.
Also, she will also be doing Latina Christiana 2 next year. Would that be 'enough' grammar?
TIA for any help!

for grade 6. It's 10 workbooks, no textbook. Join the CLE yahoo group to view samples

Have you looked at Growing with Grammar?

I was going to suggest that too, as the format might be just right for that change of pace, but then I realized that her dd has finished R&S 6 - GWG 6 (their newest level) would be redundant.
What about Junior Analytical Grammar (http://www.analyticalgrammar.com/), nutmeg? Or Analytical Grammar?

What about Analytical Grammar? It's designed to start with 6th graders, but since your dd has completed R&S 6 she should be able to handle it. The program's heavily into diagramming.
It's recommended that a 6th grader stretch it over 3 years. You could do an intensive 11 week grammar program next year and then do a review lesson once every other week for the rest of the year.

Sounds like she's quite competent and advanced with the grammar, so what about laying formal grammar instruction aside for a year, and enjoy *using* it with some informal practice:
- Comic Strip Grammar (worksheets with fun comics to practice parts of speech, punctuation, word usage)
- Grammar With A Giggle, or Giggles in the Middle (incorporates grammar rules, editing (grammar mechanics), and vocabulary in 1 paragraph a day, with each paragraph adding to a story that is completed by the end of the school year)
- Editor-in-Chief (or other program to get in practice with editing and punctuation, capitalization, word usage, such as Take Five Minutes: A History Fact a Day for Editing)
- writing program which incorporates grammar instruction, such as Classical Writing
Sounds like you could easily take a year off from formal grammar instruction (you're ahead!) and use that time next year to include something fun you wouldn't have been able to otherwise! Just a thought... : ) Best of luck! Warmly, Lori D.

Honestly I'd look into Analytical Grammar. My dd was at the same level in R&S and did well with it. We moved to Analytical Grammar because R&S was so time consuming and boring. We discovered that it was a completely new way of thinking about grammar and truly 'analytizing' sentences in a way she hadn't understood before.
Analytical Grammar is set up to be 3 years and start in the 6th grade. In the meantime you could do a few things - any of the suggestions you got here were great. I'd probably do JAG and then just let the grammar be until 6th grade.

What we're doing next year for a break....
Instead of finishing a whole year of R&S, I plan to spread R&S7 over 2 years. We'll take 2 days to cover one lesson with new material the first day and review the next.
This way we'll stay sharp with the R&S material, and get a little break!
