I did go the stickies in Help, but I can't find an answer. I got a neg rep so I figured I'd lose point(s), but I didn't. I thought I understood that a neg decreases your overall total, but no? I don't yet understand how it works. :001_smile: Point me to the best sticky on this?

Maybe the negative rep giver didn't have enough posts for their rep to count? I had the same thing happen : )

If rep is given by someone with less than a certain number of posts (maybe 50?), it doesn't affect your point total either way (negative or positive). Was that the case?

by the administrators or hostess? Sometimes they delete negative rep. points that don't seem to be given for "good" reasons. In other words, people shouldn't leave negative rep. points just because they disagree with what the other person is saying.

I second this. I have to admit I was curious to see what you had done that was so awful, and I certainly couldn't see anything in your thread history that seemed offensive or like really bad advice!

LOL I swear I am not looking for sympathy. I was trying to understand how the rep points worked. I think the person was clear and not mean or anything and even signed her name. It's a good lesson for me, and really ok! I just didn't want to lose points. lol I want to stay, as I love it here.
