I'm looking at the Spanish program. From what I've searched in other posts, there is a learning curve to using this program? Would this be better saved as a high school program?

The homeschool buyer's co op is doing a group buy on this, that is why I'm thinking about it. Would dd do better with something like the Learnables first? We have studied other languages, just not Spanish. Thanks! :)

My dd(11) could not do the German (non-homeschool) version. The hints weren't enough to get her to the right answer. She has had some German (4 years in a Waldorf school, three trips to Germany and Switzerland and relatives who speak it occasionally in front of her) but still couldn't get it.

I'm not sure that waiting for high school is what is called for though. I think a lot of the learning curve is for the program itself. I can pick up a book in German and read it, yet I had a got around 50% on the first exercise about breakfast! I watched the video and understood EVERY word, yet couldn't answer the questions correctly. I like "tests" to be black and white, without having to wonder what all they could possibly be asking for. This was very frustrating.

If they are talking about the homeschool version, which covers 4 years, I would still buy it but probably use it as review/ extra practice first. By the time other programs petered out (around German 2), she'd probably get the hang of it.

The voice recognition needs a better mic than the one that came with it. I don't know if they are part of the homeschool version or not.
