Questions about board settings...

Ok, I confess, I've always avoided this type of message board. I much prefer our old boards. But I'm trying really really hard to get w/ the program and adjust. And this board does have a lot of cool features. :)

1. How can I set up my board so that the newest responce to a thread does not bump it back up to the top? I think I'd rather see brand new threads always at the top, then I can check myself for responces to older threads.

2. Also...new threads start out bolded with little check marks to the left of them. I like that because I can click the little check mark and read what I haven't read. (It does not seem to always work properly though. I'll have to keep an eye on that.) My question is : even if I never open a post they eventually loose their boldness and checkmarks. Can I fix it where they will stay bolded until I actually open them...where they will keep their checkmarks until I've read everything?

I think if I could get everything set up this way I might be able to keep up.

Oh...couple more things:

3.What is the board editor mode thingy thing in the top right hand corner? and
4. Did everyone have to down load spell check, because when I click on mine it says I have to down load it. I don't recall ever having to do this before on any other board.

I know there is more but these are the main things.

Thanks for posting this, Rhonda. I'm having the same problem, but "eventually" is just a few minutes or an hour. I'd like to know the answer to this one, too. I've never had this problem with similar boards.

There is a section at the bottom of each forum called "Display Options." You can make changes there. You will have to make the change each time. It doesn't seem to be an option you can set in your CP.

I'm not sure what you're referring to.

That might be dependent on your browser. Which browser are you using? Did you try right-clicking in the window where you are typing.
