Ball, Stick, Bird: Any experience?

A friend of mine may be giving me her copy of this.

I had it and it did help my dd learn her letters and sounds but she did not learn to read with it. The ONLY program that worked at all for her was the I See Sam books.

For free though it might be worth a try.
