Dishwasher problems? How long does yours run for a regular cleaning cycle?

I don't know if we're having trouble with ours or not, but dh said the other night after I turned it on that it seemed to run (he could hear water filling and the rubble of it washing/rinsing) for over an hour. I had gone to bed and wasn't around. We don't use the dishwasher very much, and it is a new one (probably only used a dozen times).

That doesn't sound off to me. I think mine takes about an hour, but I don't pay close attention, so I might not be the best one to answer ;).

My dishwasher is older and it does take about an hour total between start to finish. It's always been consistent with the time though. When my SIL's dishwasher was going bad, it started to slowly take longer....and longer....and longer to wash the dishes.

Ours is just under a year old, and the super deluxe cycle takes nearly 90 minutes. The quick wash is 42 minutes and the regular is somewhere in between. HTH!

I never took that long to wash the dishes by hand! (But I'm not going to complain too much - the dishwasher's job is safe.;)

Ours is fairly new too (couple of years old) and it seems to take a long time too. I think sometimes (especially at night), it takes a while for it to build up the hot water it needs. I think that is why it seems to take longer, but it isn't running constantly during that time.

Although I use the water miser cycle so it is probably a bit short than a regular cycle.

Our washer take around 40 minutes to an hour. I think that it depends on if I start it at a heavy load or a light load.

It seems to lessen the cycle time. Does yours have a "sensor" that tells when the dishes are clean? Seems to me these take forever.
Some cycles take longer, too--our "pots and pans" cycle is the longest.

depending on cycle type, it runs from about 40 minutes to 75 minutes...
seems really long doesn't it????
