Can you tell me what you think of these programs? I am planning for the future and am in no hurry so I would really like to have many views of these programs. They both look incredibly boring to me, but I am old enough to know that not all subjects are going to be wildly exciting to our students or to me. :p
I do though, want it to be interesting and worthwhile. Have any of you used one and then another for another child? Any thoughts or comments would be much appreciated.
Warmly,

I posted it on the High School Board and got a lot of responses. Here is the link. (http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2570)
It is nice to know I am not alone!

Thank you! I will say that we are leaning toward Apologia because I have 3 children to teach this to. I think BJU would be harder to supplement down than the Apologia.

Yes, I am honestly not at all sure what we will do. Thankfully I don't have to decide this year. :) BJU does have the videos though, and that is something I am seriously considering. I have four other children and this might be a way in which I can have her do the courses, but also still have a life outside of Bio. :) LOL

If you used BJU, you could just use their Life Science for any younger ones (middle school age).
I don't see how you'd supplement down Apologia -it's pretty technical, and has a lot of focus on microbiology.
I almost wish I had gone with BJU Life Science for my 8th grader this year, instead of Apologia Biology. While she likes it just fine, and it's easy to do at home, we could have waited. She'll probably do BJU Biology later.

and we preferred BJU Biology......and I did use the Life Science with my younger ones at the same time. For me, Apologia's writing style didn't work for my son.........he wanted color, outlines, etc... and the DVD's were great.......especially for the experiments and he learned a lot from it.
